Picture of Mrs. Hillary Clinton and Rachel Qin, one of China Highlights travel advisors.1998

It has been 10 years since Mrs. Hillary Clinton visited China with the Formal President Bill Clinton. Rachel Qin, one of the travel advisors from China Highlights, was appointed by our government to take part in the reception of the President team.

Mrs. Hillary Clinton is now the Secretary of The United States. She looks as young as what she looks 10 years ago, we wish her the best success in her career and we hope that she will have time to visit China again.

Government closed train tickets reservation for travel agency during the spring festival

One of the reasons for many travelers to use a travel agency in China is because only travel agencies were able to book train tickets in advance. But this is not true during the period of the Chinese Spring festival. Our government has stopped the booking system for travel agency to book train tickets in advance for their customers.

Millions of Chinese migrant workers are now jamming in train stations to buy tickets home for the Lunar New Year holiday. Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival, is the biggest of two "Golden Week" holidays, giving migrant workers their only chance of the year of returning to their home provinces with gifts for the family, the biggest movement of humanity in the world. The holiday begins on January 26. The second Golden Week of the year celebrates National Day on Oct 1. Beijing station, one of three in the city, has added 35 daily departures and arrivals each to its normal 105 to accommodate the surge, a station worker said. Chinese airlines also expect to carry 12 percent more passengers this holiday compared with 2008, or some 24.2 million people, an aviation official said in a webcast on government website www.gov.cn.
